After back tracking we headed south again toward Morro Bay. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge while jamming along to the Full House theme song and did some more beautiful coastal driving before landing at our spot in the small costal town of Morro Bay. We again were originally planning on spending just one night but spent two at Morro Strand State Park where we snagged a beautiful spot right on the beach.
The second day we spent the majority of the day at the dog beach with Kida, playing frisbee to her hearts content. She topped it off by sniffing out and rolling in an unidentifiable carcass. She was less than pleased with the B-Line to a dog wash station, but napped hard the rest of the day.
When we got back to our site we chatted with the new neighbors who had just pulled in, they gave a bunch of recommendations for our trip and we’re incredibly friendly people. Later that night as we were heading to the beach we met their friend who was camping a few spots down, she happened to be from Iowa we bonded over being Midwestern before we took our little folding couch to the beach to read until sunset.
The following morning we packed up and we were literally seconds away from firing up the engine and heading to our next spot when we had a knock on the door. Our new midwestern friend came over to deliver homemade lefsa for us to have for Christmas!
